Reuse Technician

Job Description The Reuse Technician cleans and sterilizes dialyzers, which are filters that clean the blood of excess food and waste. Every dialysis patient has their own dialyzer; these dialyzers are attached to the hemodialysis machine and can be reused for a specified period of time.

Responsibilities Provides direct patient care including performing patient treatment from start to finish and handling daily operations between patient and dialysis machine. Responsible for basic water room testing related tasks. Responsible for opening and closing the unit and water room. Responds to machine alarms according to established procedures. Responds to emergency situations with appropriate treatment as directed by the RN. Assists in patient discharge and transfer practices, as directed by the RN. Performs dialysis required laboratory procedures and quality control. Qualifications High School Diploma, College Undergraduate, or NC II holder (Biomedical Equipment Servicing). Knowledge of medical setting or customer service environment. Training and experience as an HD Technician is an advantage. Attention to detail and a positive attitude towards work.
