The position will focus on the study and identification of vocal biomarkers for health-oriented applications, such as early detection of neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer and Parkinson, or rare diseases, like Turner syndrome, as well as pathologies linked to emotional and mental health issues like depression, anxiety, or stress.
The candidate would contribute to advancing La Salle-URL research in Speech Processing as part of the Human-Environment Research Group (2021SGR01396).
This group is a co-leader, alongside the Universitat de Barcelona, of the BeNeXT project (funded by the Agencia Estatal de Investigación PID2023-147001OBC21/C22).
BeNeXT focuses on developing biomarker-enhanced diagnostic and prognostic tools for rare disorders, using X-chromosome alterations in Turner syndrome as a model.
