VHIR offers a vacant position for a Research Technician within the Pneumology Department and the Catalan Centre for Alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency group. Education and qualifications: Required: Degree in Biomedicine Master's in Molecular Biology and/or biomedicine, already completed Fluency in Spanish, Catalan, English Desired: English certification (B2) Experience and knowledge: Required: Previous and demonstrable experience in genetics Experience in cellular (cell culture, isolation of PBMCs by gradient separation, transfection, etc) and molecular biology (PCR, qPCR, sequencing, ELISA) Knowledge of respiratory diseases, in particular COPD and alpha-1antitrypsin deficiency Desired: Publications or congress presentations will be also considered Strong communication skills will be greatly valued Main responsibilities and duties: Give support in processing samples from alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency patients Laboratory support for the research group in COPD and alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency Perform different molecular biology studies Collection of data and collaboration in data analysis and interpretation Analyse the results and elaborate summary and scientific abstracts and/or publications Labour conditions: Full-time position: 40h/week Starting date: December 2024 Gross annual salary: Remuneration will depend on experience and skills.
