The Chronic Liver Disease Group is seeking a Graduate Technician to join the laboratory.
The Advanced Chronic Liver Disease Laboratory belongs to the Chronic Liver Disease Research Group at VHIR.
We are interested in the mechanisms leading to liver fibrosis and portal hypertension in liver disease, mostly of metabolic injury and alcohol-related origin, as well as the immune and inflammatory underlying pathways.
We use the rat model and several ex vivo techniques.
Education and qualifications: Required: Bachelor's Degree in Biology, Biomedical Sciences, Biotechnology or a related field.
Official MSc degree.
English level (C1).
Desired: In possession of an official certificate for working with experimental animals.
Experience and knowledge: Required: At least 12 months of previous experience in a research lab.
Desired: Strong sense of responsibility, initiative, self-motivation, and social skills as key personal abilities.
Ability to work independently.
Authorship in scientific publications.
Main responsibilities and duties: The candidate will be responsible for conducting experiments under the supervision and guidance of the lab leader.
The different projects will require experience in several molecular and cellular techniques, such as cell culture, DNA/RNA techniques, western blot, and animal manipulation.
The candidate will participate in the activities organized by the laboratory and the campus.
Labour conditions: Full-time position: 37.5h/week.
Starting date: Immediate.
Gross annual salary: 22.823 €.
Contract: Technical and scientific activities contract linked to the project activities.
