NoOffer Description Grant/funding reference: RYC2022-036010-IJob title: Ramón y Cajal Program (Patient-specific computational forecasting of prostate cancer growth and treatment response to guide clinical decision-making)Research line / Scientific-technical services: Personalized biomathematical models of radiotherapy.TASKS Development of biomathematical models of prostate cancer growth and radiotherapeutic treatment response with/without (neo)adjuvant hormonal therapy based on ordinary differential equations that describe the dynamics of the prostate-specific antigen (PSA) over time.Development of methods of parametrization of these models based on least squares and Bayesian calibration techniques employing longitudinal series of anonymized PSA data from patients.Analysis of the predictions, parameters, and biomarkers obtained with the personalized models for each patient and within the group of patients.Development of computer codes in MATLAB and Python to implement the tasks 1-3.Contribution to the preparation of text and visual materials for the presentation of scientific results in conferences and scientific articles. The candidates will have to be in possession of a Bachelor degree.Additional Information Eligibility criteria SELECTION CRITERIA Applications will be scored up to 100 points in accordance with the following criteria:A. Academic track (maximum 35 points).A maximum of 15 points will be given in function of the grade point average (GPA) in the academic track record of the required Bachelor degree. Applications with degrees in the field of Mathematics and Physics will be valued preferentially. In the case of applicants with degrees in engineering, a weighting factor of 70% will be applied to the GPA. In the case of applications with other degrees, the previous weighting factor will be of 10%.The 20 remaining points will be awarded in function of the grades obtained by the candidate in courses of their Bachelor degree related to the project tasks as follows: a maximum of 0.025 points for each 1 ECTS will be awarded for courses related to differential equations, numerical methods, and scientific programming; and a maximum of 0.125 points for each 1 ECTS will be awarded for courses related to applications of mathematics, physics, and engineering in biology and medicine. For all these courses, the same weighting scheme as a function of the type of Bachelor degree used for the GPA will be applied.B
