Job DescriptionWe are looking for a Research Scientist with a data-centric mindset to join our applied research and innovation team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in machine learning, deep learning, language models, GenAI and process automation. You will be responsible for analyzing data, researching the most appropriate techniques, and the development, testing, support and delivery of proof of concepts to resolve real-world and large-scale challenging problems.
Responsibilities: Develop and apply machine learning innovations by collaborating with other team members and company stakeholders.Understand the requirements and communicate results and conclusions in a clear manner.Perform feasibility studies and analyze data to determine the most appropriate solution.Work on various data challenges, ensuring simplicity, scalability, reproducibility, and maintainability within ML solutions and source code.Develop and maintain high-quality standards for both data and software with minimal defects.Collaborate with other technical fellows on the integration and deployment of ML solutions.Encourage team building, motivation, and cultivate effective team relations.QualificationsPhD/Masters in a specific area of AI/ML with scientific soundness and published papers.Able to understand scientific papers and develop the idea into executable code.Hands-on expertise in Machine Learning, NLP, LMs, GenAI, signal processing and data science.Previous experience with key information extraction, product retrieval and product matching.EDA analysis and practical hands-on experience with datasets, ML models and evaluations.Proficiency in Python, Pytorch, Git, pandas, dask, polars, sklearn, huggingface, docker, databricks.Analytical mindset, problem solving and logical thinking capabilities.Proactive attitude, constructive, intellectual curiosity and persistence to find answers to questions.High level of interpersonal and communication skills in English and strong ability to meet deadlines.Keen to work as part of a diverse team of international colleagues in a global inclusive culture.A minimum of 3-5 years' experience with evidence in a related ML field.Desired SkillsExperience working with large datasets, production-grade code and operationalization of ML solutions.Experience in MLOPs (MLFlow, Prefect) and deployment of AI/ML solutions to the cloud (esp. Azure).Robotic Process Automation and a practical grasp of databases (SQL, ElasticSearch, Pinecone, Faiss).Previous experience in retail, consumer, ecommerce, business, FMCG products (NielsenIQ portfolio).Additional Information- Flexible working model - the team meets 1/2 a month at the office.
