Created in 2005 by the Generalitat de Catalunya (Government of Catalonia) and the University of Barcelona, IRB Barcelona is a Severo Ochoa Centre of Excellence—a seal that was awarded in 2011. IRB Barcelona forms part of the Barcelona Institute of Science and Technology (BIST) and the "Xarxa de Centres de Recerca de Catalunya" (CERCA).IRB Barcelona is seeking a Research Officer to work in the field of Mass Spectrometry and Proteomics.DUTIESMass Spectrometry-based proteomic analysis: experimental sample preparation and data acquisition using new generation mass spectrometers.Data analysis using dedicated proteomics software.Calibration and maintenance of the equipment and unit.Attendance to users and help reporting to users.EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLSMust Have - RequiredExperience: In sample prep for qualitative and quantitative proteomic applications (cell and tissue lysis, TMT labelling, phosphorilation enrichment, depletion protocols, fractionation, chemoproteomics). In data acquisition in Orbitraps and high resolution mass spectrometers working hyphenated to nanoliquid chromatographs. In the use of specialized proteomics software (XCalibur, MassLynx, Proteome Discoverer, PEAKS, MaxQuant, Sequest, Skyline).Knowledge: A degree/master in chemistry, biochemistry, biology or related fields.DesirableExperience/background: In chemical biology and/or targeted protein degradation is a plus. In handling large number of samples.Knowledge: In modern proteomic strategies.Skills: Organized, flexible and dynamic person, with initiative and highly motivated to work in a research environment within a Core Facility. High degree of work autonomy and good teamworker. Willing to work for users projects. Good communication skills.
