IRB Barcelona forms part of the Barcelona Institute of Science and Technology (BIST) and the "Xarxa de Centres de Recerca de Catalunya" (CERCA).Your Role & Our TeamIRB Barcelona is seeking a Research Officer, a motivated scientific biomedical professional (veterinarian, biologist, biotechnologist or from a similar area of knowledge) with proven skills in general biomedical laboratory tasks, histology, pathology and/or tissue scanning and image analysis to cover a position in the Histopathology Facility to support an aging and cellular reprogramming scientific project. The position is available for 1 year in a full-time capacity with the potential for renewal. Key responsibilitiesCoordinate and provide general support for project-specific activities: Tracking and monitoring project budget expenses Purchasing of reagents and management of customs clearance requirements alongside the IRB finance and purchasing departmentAssisting with experimental procedures (preparation of material for tissue collection and fixation, shipping of samples... among others)Translation of experimental protocols from English to Spanish/Catalan Acting as key contact person with the research team to anticipate the timelines of the studies and the support needed for the above-mentioned tasks. Provide support to Image Analysis and Histopathological studies within the facility:Computerized pathology: Tissue image scanning and use of the different image analysis tools for the interpretation of the tissue histopathological data.You haveExperience: PhD or Master in Veterinary, Biology, Biotechnology degree or equivalent with proven experience in an experimental laboratory of histopathology, biomedicine or similar.
