The Sustainable Mining and By-Products Research Team is a dedicated and innovative group of experts focused on advancing sustainable practices in the steel and mining industry. Their diverse expertise encompasses environmental stewardship, tailings management, resource optimization, and the valorization of steel and mining by-products. By minimizing the environmental impact of steel production, reducing resource depletion, and promoting the efficient utilization of valuable by-products, the team aims to create a sustainable approach that balances the extraction of raw materials with the well-being of ecosystems and local communities.
Your roleAssist in conducting in-depth research to understand the chemical and physical properties of steel by-products.Analyze market trends, industry regulations, and technological advancements related to steel by-products recycling and utilization.Collaborate with laboratory technicians and external partners to conduct material testing and characterization.Gather and interpret experimental data to identify opportunities for improvement and innovation.Generate creative ideas and concepts for utilizing steel by-products in novel ways.Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders to align research efforts with business objectives.Liaise with external and internal stakeholders, such as suppliers, customers, research institutions, and regulatory bodies, to gather insights and foster partnerships.Communicate findings, progress updates, and recommendations to stakeholders through reports, presentations, and technical documentation.Stay abreast of emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in steel recycling and materials science.Identify opportunities for process optimization, cost reduction, and environmental sustainability in steel by-product utilization.Your profileMaster degree in Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mining Engineering or a related field.A first experience would be appreciated.Knowledge about steel production and by-products.Advanced levels of English and Spanish.Excellent communication and collaboration abilities, with the aptitude to work effectively in cross-functional teams.Initiative, Adaptability, Results Oriented, Team Work, Technological Curiosity.Ability to challenge current technologies / propose new ideas to research on disruptive environmental solutions.According to ArcelorMittal Global R&D valuesYou agree to comply with health and safety rules.You are respectful, transparent, honest and empathetic in your relationships.
