Research Data Management Specialist

Detalles de la oferta

The Institute

The Centre for Genomic Regulation (CRG) is an international biomedical research institute of excellence, based in Barcelona, Spain, with more than 400 scientists from 44 countries. The CRG is composed of an interdisciplinary, motivated and creative scientific team supported by a flexible and efficient administration and high-end innovative technologies.

In April 2021, the Centre for Genomic Regulation (CRG) received the renewal of the 'HR Excellence in Research' Award from the European Commission. This recognition reflects the Institute's commitment to developing an HR Strategy for Researchers, aligning practices with the principles of the European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers (Charter and Code).

The role

The volume of data used in scientific research has grown significantly in recent years. This requires developing specialised methodologies and processes for managing such data. Concepts such as the FAIR data principles, reproducibility, and scientific integrity all play a part in the management of scientific data. Considering this, the CRG is looking for a Research Data Specialist to expand on existing policies and guidelines, liaise with researchers and the Core Technology Units to guide, improve, and implement new methodologies, and train users. They will work as part of the Scientific IT (SIT) Team and help develop tools, systems, and procedures to aid this effort.

About the team

The post holder would be part of the SIT reporting to the Head of SIT. The team currently consists of 5 members (including the head). They manage all the storage and computational resources used for scientific research at the CRG. Additionally, the post-holder would attend and take an active role in the Research Data Management Committee, which includes a wide range of CRG members with expertise in fields relevant to the management of Scientific Data (scientific, legal, strategy and funding, IT, training, technology, and business development).
