As a Research Associate, you will ensure the operational implementation of a research project in an international and cross-functional environment.
This project consists of evaluating the sensory characteristics of fresh fruits collected in different European countries.
As perishable foods, fruits should be harvested, shipped to the lab, and analyzed in the shortest time to ensure the quality of the results.
Your main mission will be to secure the day-to-day logistics of this project to ensure fruit reception in the laboratories at the right time and in good conditions.
The sensory evaluation of fruits will be carried out by a sensory provider, and you will be their main contact for the proper realization of this study.
This project requires you to be highly reactive and proactive.
In detail, you will be in charge of: Project logistic monitoring: Teach growers on fruit harvest protocols and shipping procedures.
Plan fruit harvests in coordination between European fruit growers (SP, IT, GR, TK, FR), phenotyping platform, and sensory laboratory.
Day-to-day tracking of fruit shipping: maintain the tracking dashboard, call shipping companies or customs to ensure delivery of fruits in time and at the right place.
Assess the quality of fruit packaging and sensory quality at reception in the laboratory, as defined in the project.
Checking and supporting the proper realization of the sensory study by our provider: Recruitment of the consumers panel (naïve).
Respect of experimental design.
Hedonic data processing, analyses, and reporting.
You may be in charge of additional sensory-related missions depending on the project evolution.
Qualifications: Master's degree in food science with sensory and statistics background.
Background in sensory science.
Experience in logistics/supply chain.
Project management.
Statistics.
Pack office: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, MS Teams.
Fluent in English and Spanish; French is a plus.
Skills: Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional and international environment.
Strong communication skills (phoning, mailing).
Reactivity, adaptability.
Rigorous and responsible.
Highly motivated, proactive, autonomous.
