Local Unit & Position Description: DNV's Measurements Team delivers high quality resource measurements to help wind farm developers assess the energy production of potential wind farms.
The team also conducts measurements to assure wind turbine functionality and performance when placed in operation.
We are engineers, scientists, and businesspeople dedicated to the success of the wind energy industry.
In short, we verify through measurements that wind farms and wind turbines will produce enough high-quality energy over their service life.
The SEMELA DNV Measurements team consists of approximately 40 staff located in Spain, Italy, Brazil, Chile, Mexico, and South Africa.
It is part of a global team of Measurements experts with other competence centers in China, India, Germany, Australia, and the US, with further expertise in other DNV offices.
Our department of measurements and tests in renewables with a workshop in Madrid is expanding the team, and that is why we are looking for a Measurements Technician to develop the following functions:
In the office/workshop (50% of the time):Preparation and configuration of the measurement systems (sensors, wiring, electrical cabinets, etc.
)Management of the measurement systems at the workshop (cleaning, maintenance, calibration, storage)Purchase of measurement equipment, supplier relationshipsCoordination of projects with Project ManagersRemote assistance for ongoing measurements On field (50% of the time):Installation, maintenance, or dismantling of measurement systems in power plant sites around the world.On-site testing. Position Qualifications:For developing the above-described tasks, we are looking for a technician with the following profile:
Academic level: Higher professional training in Electricity/ElectronicsHigh English levelSkills with computer equipment (hardware and software) - Microsoft Office toolsAbility to perform electrical measurements with multimeter, oscilloscope, and dataloggerAvailability to travel worldwideAvailability to work at heights and in confined spaces (wind turbine)Valid driving license Additional tasks may include:Technical report writingAnalysis of data from measurement campaigns according to international standards and internal best practicesTesting data monitoring Preferred qualifications:Knowledge or experience in renewable energiesKnowledge or experience in measurement technology of electrical, meteorological, or mechanical load parametersVocation for order and clean work environmentHigh motivation and proactive attitude The position is based in Madrid, but frequent travels may be requested.
