What you'll do The Release Manager role is accountable for creating, embedding, and maintaining a robust lifecycle and release management capability within our Mobile Private Network's portfolio.
It is also:
responsible for scheduling, planning and controlling the software's development and delivery processa senior member of the Software Development team and will work across multiple domains, some managing agile software development with code pipelines, others external vendors It will also align with multiple stakeholders such as Product Management, Complex Customer Solutions, Technology Product Owners, Agile Delivery Managers, Engineering and Operations to ensure that the solution can be readily deployed and operated across a global footprint.
Main Responsibilities Own the Release Management lifecycle including strategy, tooling, planning, coordination and management of product and maintenance releases across both in-house and externally developed components, covering both service and product.Optimise the release management approach embedding appropriate practices to ensure smooth compliance whilst optimising the process through use of KPIs and Analytics.Act as the Customer Champion always considering the migration plan and customer impact.Drive communications around each release covering requirements, release preparation documents, QA plans, schedule, scope changes and resulting release notes.Identify the risks that can delay the release and manage them, such that the scope scheduled, and quality of the release is not affected. Embed Release Readiness reviews, Milestone Reviews, and Business Go/No-Go reviews in the process and validate/review their effectiveness on a regular basis.Act as an evangelist for automation driving the use of code pipelines with appropriate quality checks built in, ensuring the impacts of branches and code merges is understood.Lead and co-ordinate the Go-Live activities including, deployment Plans & checklists.Maintain a release repository and manage key information e.g. release calendar, build & release procedures, dependencies, compatibility matrix.Drive the execution of Change Management processes.Overall, you will be concerned with planning, testing, tracking, release, deployment, communication, and risk management.
