Job Title Regulatory Legal Counsel - Outpayce Summary In this role as Regulatory Legal Counsel, you will work for the Payments legal team.
As a Lawyer, you are responsible for providing legal advice and support to Outpayce, a fully owned subsidiary of Amadeus.
Your main responsibilities Legal advice and contract negotiation Provide legal support and negotiate agreements with suppliers (mainly affecting the regulated business/infrastructure), consulting with key stakeholders within Amadeus/Outpayce as necessary (e.g., DPU lawyers, Business Development, product management team).
Assist lawyers and contract managers in drafting and negotiating payment agreements, particularly in connection with applicable payment regulations.
Support the coordination to implement the contractual governance applicable for the regulated business.
Support ongoing assessment of Outpayce as a regulated entity.
Engage external law firms to assess regulations on marketing financial products in B2B Wallet.
Provide ongoing advice and training on regulatory matters and B2B Wallet geographical expansion to the Outpayce and Amadeus teams.
Coordinate and assist with inter-group arrangements when required.
Implement regulatory advice and establish regulatory guidelines in internal tools, including the B2B Wallet Heatmap, to ensure regulatory compliance and minimize operational, credit, and market risks.
Coordinate with other teams on legal assessment processes and any related questions.
Stay updated on developments and changes in law, practice, and regulatory framework affecting the payments sector.
Support document production and work with Amadeus/Outpayce business units to understand their requirements and help with prioritization.
Identify risk issues within Amadeus/Outpayce and escalate as required.
Work with a senior manager who will provide on-the-job training, supervision, and mentoring.
New products and Synergies Collaborate and advise on the design and conception of new business models and products, considering regulatory implications.
Document and develop necessary supporting documents, templates, analysis, etc.
Templates and processes Prepare and maintain template documents.
Establish and monitor internal and external procedures relating to payments regulations and regulatory guidelines/playbook for contract negotiations.
Assist in maintaining documentation on databases.
Training and know-how Provide support and training to business and legal teams on payment matters, contracts, and regulations as necessary.
Coordinate and liaise with stakeholders on legal matters relating to the Amadeus/Outpayce business unit.
Supervise and coach junior lawyers in the broader PAY Legal Team, supporting their career progression.
Update know-how sharing documentation.
Capture and share lessons learned (e.g., workshops, with or without external counsel, reference materials, regular calls).
Improve external counsel's support of internal training and know-how (articles, recommendations of resources and seminars).
Liaise with the legal knowledge center on capturing training sessions and know-how material and sharing with other legal team members.
Provide support on tracking and follow-up of work managed by other legal teams.
About the ideal candidate University Degree in Law, master's degree in law (preferred).
From 4 to 6 years of relevant work experience in big law and ideally in-house.
Payment services/regulations knowledge is needed.
Understanding of commercial principles.
Proficiency in Legal English, strong drafting skills, and effective negotiation skills.
Fluency in Spanish is beneficial.
