The Role University Hospital Hairmyres are seeking 2xdedicated Registered Nurses to join our Medicine/Gastroenterology department within Ward 11.Our Gastroenterology Department plays a crucial role in diagnosing and treating a wide range of medical conditions. We are currently seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our dynamic team.
As a Registered Nurse within the Medicine/Gastroenterology department, you will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to assess patient care needs, develop care programs, and ensure the delivery of high-quality services.

What we'll need you to bring Registered Nurse with valid UK NMC Registration
The post holder will be required to demonstrate excellent team working skills with the ability to work using own initiative
Effective listening, communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work with people and as part of a multidisciplinary team
Excellent time management skills
Working knowledge of basic information technology
It would be great if you also have Educated at degree level in a Health related subject.
Evidence of Further education within Medical/ Gastroenterology Nursing
Evidence of further education and continuous professional development
Current Acute NHS experience preferably within Medicine/ Gastroenterology
Good Knowledge of Gastroenterology clinical conditions their treatments and the nursing care required
Have expanded practice in a range of clinical skills: (Intravenous Drug Administration, Phlebotomy, Cannulation ECG recording. Male Catheterisation)
Genuine enthusiasm to work within the Medical /Gastroenterology care setting
Actively Promote a Caring and Compassionate Philosophy
Ability to work varied shifts as per NHSL Rotational Contract

29.7 & 22.7 hours
Please note this is a part time post and the salary for this position will be pro-rata.
Location and Working Pattern This role will be based in Medical/Gastroenterologywithin University Hospital Hairmyres.
The working pattern for this role is rotational from Monday - Sunday.

From 1 April 2024, the working week for NHS Agenda for Change workers in Scotland will be reduced. Full-time hours will reduce from 37.5 to 37 hours (pro rata for part-time staff) without loss of earnings.
NHS Lanarkshire will implement this change but it may not be possible to fully transition from 1 April and there may therefore be some areas of the organisation where implementation may take longer. If the department is currently unable to safely accommodate the reduced hours from 1st April, you may be required to work 37.5 hours per week until the department can meet the requirements without impacting patient safety - you will, of course, be remunerated accordingly. NHS Lanarkshire is committed to full implementation of the 37 hour working week across all areas as soon as it is safe to do so.
