This position is responsible for developing, establishing and maintaining quality programs, policies, processes, procedures and controls ensuring that performance and quality of shipped products conform to established customer requirements, Ecolab standards and agency regulations. Specifically, this position is a people manager and will have four contributors reporting into him/her.
He/she will provide Quality Engineering Leadership for Ecolab's Raw Materials, Packaging components, equipment, and Finished Good Supplier operations.
Responsibilities Will Include (but May Not Be Limited To) Manage supplier quality performance with full ownership & responsibility. Review and update the Supplier Evaluation Process. Communication to suppliers, tracking & reporting their related performance. Develop Critical Suppliers by category, ensuring the promotion of awareness of Ecolab quality requirements at supplier level. Lead the Supplier Failures investigations to reduce TOP issues by category in collaboration with other functions such as Procurement, Production Plants, RD&E, Regulatory and other functions. Review and update Procurement Procedures to ensure Supplier Management Process is compliance with standards and regulations. Conduct product and processes supplier audits. Detect and identify non-conformities and carry out improvement/corrective action plans to prevent future potential failures. Monitor current SQA tools usage and procedures fulfillment. Active role in new Supplier onboarding done by Procurement: Audit & Selection and also in the Components Qualification & Approval process. Lead the preparation and presentation of quality topics in the Supplier Review meetings. Assure escalation process through executive summaries. Raise the alarm when there is a risk for Major Non-Conformity and Customer satisfaction or internal roadblock. Define and Detail yearly Supplier Quality team Goals and assure their achievement. Education Degree in Chemistry, Pharmacy, Engineering, Food Science, or related field with strong Chemistry component. Deep knowledge of quality management systems, standards and government regulations applicable to the industry (e.g. ISO9001, 13485 & 22000). ISO Certification Preferred. Project management. Ideally Six Sigma Green Belt, Black Belt certification. Experience: 10 years working experience with a Supplier Quality role. 5 years leading a Supplier Quality Program in a multinational company. Demonstrated experience in Medical devices regulation. Ideally several years of work experience in the chemical sector, design & development, manufacturing and/or quality assurance, including generation of detailed specifications and requirements. Experience managing teams. Project management experience. Ideally Green Belt, Black Belt certification. Competencies Must possess good interpersonal skills to establish effective working relationships that are critical in a team environment. English Professional, ideally also able to speak and read German and Spanish. Effective oral and written communication skill set. Requires proficient presentation and technical writing abilities.
