Job Description SummaryJoin Novartis as the Head Business Planning and Analysis REFS Rest of World region, which is a pivotal role that provides financial expertise and drives the achievement of REFS financial, transformation, and savings targets.
As a key member of the REFS ROW LT and REFS Finance LT, this role acts as the strategic Finance partner for the REFS RoW Head.ResponsibilitiesCoordinating the REFS Planning and Reporting for the RoW Region.Providing decision support for high-impact Investments/Projects.Leading innovative Productivity & Offshoring/Outsourcing Initiatives.Managing and developing a high-performing team.Providing leadership to cross-functional teams and making a significant impact on the organization's success.Major Accountabilities:Partnering effectively with REFS Finance globally, Operations Finance, and REFS Business Leadership teams in RoW to align financial strategies and objectives.Providing cost transparency and ensuring a good understanding of key cost drivers for REFS RoW by location and business area (Real Estate Mgmt, Design Construction Mgmt, Facility Mgmt, HSE).Evaluating risks & opportunities, proactively communicating findings, and making recommendations for mitigation.
Following up to ensure issues are addressed promptly.Understanding and keeping current with the business strategy and objectives of various divisions, partnering effectively to provide cost-effective solutions, such as identifying savings opportunities.Providing timely, accurate, and meaningful financial management reporting on operation and project costs, serving as the basis for performance management and decision-making.Collaborating closely with Country/Region Finance and Business in REFS, as well as across Operations and all divisions, providing financial expertise for the evaluation, execution, and tracking of REFS Investments/Divestments and projects in RoW.Providing a standardized Investment/Divestments and projects approval process and ensuring adherence to Novartis MAL.Establishing a robust process for accurate monitoring and reporting of key KPIs for savings and performance.Ensuring good accounting practices in line with Novartis Accounting Manual (NAM), MAL/FIKO, Investment guidelines and approvals process, all Operations forms (IS40, IS26, etc.
