Lightsource bp is a global leader in the development and management of solar energy projects.
Responsibilities
Conduct and review all calculations and design regarding civil and ground works for elements related to renewable energy technologies, mainly focused on PV.
Review civil calculation and site survey reports (geotechnical, topographical, hydrological) and assess the suitability of the plant design, foundations, and mounting structures solutions proposed.
Review load calculation reports for mounting structures.
Conduct preliminary PV plant design layouts in AutoCAD, including specific civil constraints to avoid future problems.
Manage and coordinate external consultants to complete internal assessments, preparing technical and economical comparisons among proposals.
Knowledge & Experience
Relevant professional experience in a civil engineer role or equivalent.
Experience in earthworks, ground works, and excavation works.
Experience undertaking calculations for earth movement for leveling and flattening.
Experience in foundations calculations for PV structures and equipment.
Experience in hydrological and flooding studies.
Good knowledge of topographical surveys.
Experience in AutoCAD Civil 3D and GIS software (ideally QGIS, ArcGIS, and Global Mapper).
Experience using civil design software.
Work Skills
Fluent spoken and written English.
Strong stakeholder management skills and ability to work collaboratively.

Resilient in ambiguous environments.
Experience in renewables and PV plant design.
Qualifications
B.S. in Engineering (civil preferred) or equivalent; advanced degree a plus.
