.Radiation Hardness EngineerThe candidate would support DEIMOS in several projects reporting to the head of Systems Engineering Competence Centre and will work collaboratively with team members across all subsystems. The candidate will be focused on the field of radiation analysis and effects on electronic components and equipment for spacecraft.The Systems Engineering Competence Centre is responsible for the overall technical architecture and development of space systems and satellite platforms, from initial concept definition up to on-orbit operations support. Currently, DEIMOS is working on several projects for ESA and the commercial market to provide cutting edge technologies for earth observation or communication satellites as well as scientific missions.Main Duties:The person in charge of this position would support DEIMOS on the current and upcoming projects regarding radiation engineering activities for satellite systems.The candidate's main tasks and responsibilities, if selected for this position, will include:Technical support and studies across DEIMOS projects in the radiation hardness field, throughout all project phases; Performing simulations of radiation effects on spacecraft electronic equipment using suitable physics-based SW tools to produce new models or improve existing ones; Main duties will include the characterisation and analysis of total ionising dose (TID), displacement damage (DD) and single-event effect (SEE) for space applications; Monitoring and follow-up of applicable scientific and technological trends while maintaining state-of-the-art expertise within the company; Participating in feasibility studies, project reviews and the evaluation or generation of technical proposals; Contributing to the dissemination activities not only within the company but also externally (publications, papers etc).Education:Preferred Aerospace EngineerProfessional Experience:0-3 years in Aerospace IndustryTechnical Requirements:The candidate should have some, but not all, of the skills below:Experience and background in the field of radiation hardness analysis and assurance.A basic knowledge of component engineering, analysis and simulation of radiation effects on spacecraft units and EEE components.Knowledge of radiation analysis and design tools: CATIA, FASTRAD, OMERE.Knowledge of MBSE philosophy.Detailed knowledge of the systems and subsystems encompassing a spacecraft.Knowledge of New Space approach and techniques.Knowledge of low-level integration and testing techniques.Experience in writing relevant technical and project implementation documentation.Expertise performing tasks to analyse technical data, verify and sustain specific systems configurations in accordance with defined constraints and driving/operational/technical requirements (following ECSS techniques).Demonstrated experience working in a dynamic environment with multiple priorities
