The role
As R&I Business Development Manager you will be responsible to lead EIT Digital's scouting and subsequent application to opportunities funded by European Commission and other international/national organisations. The R&I Business Development Manager performs her/his tasks by liaising with the Ecosystem / Education / Innovation functions responsible for the area by which the projects are executed.
Main responsibilities
Lead scouting of opportunities (European, international, national grants and tenders) for EIT Digital;
Provide regular updates to EIT Digital management on upcoming grant and tender opportunities together with recommendations on strategic partner engagement and EIT Digital positioning in specific opportunities;
Be the main contact point at EU level for other organisations wanting to explore collaborations with EIT Digital for joint bids;
Coordinate the collection, monitoring and integration of data to support EIT Digital's pro-active scouting of opportunities;
Overall responsibility for planning, organising, monitoring and management reporting of EIT Digital engagement with identified opportunities by liaising and aligning with the Ecosystem / Education / Innovation functions responsible for proposal development as well as lead the preparation of selected applications;
Organise and manage effective dissemination of opportunities within EIT Digital;
Contribute to the EU Projects Team and overall EIT Digital knowledge sharing and upskilling.
Qualifications and experience
STEM preferred or related field;
Minimum of 10 years' relevant experience; work experience in Innovation and related field;
5+ years of proven project management experience;
Proven experience with Horizon 2020/Europe projects;
Strong track record in acquiring opportunities and building successful consortia, both Grant proposals and Tenders;
Proactive, autonomous and team-oriented professional with an entrepreneurial mindset, effective leadership skills, and excellent communication skills;
Excellent knowledge of projects administrative and financial aspects;
Excellent network with European and national funding agencies, and with European Academia, RTOs and Industry.
Languages
Excellent command of English is required. Additional EU languages are considered an asset.
Employment
This is a full-time position. Employment in one of our pan-European network of Co-Location Centers / HUBs can be considered. Applicant may be required for occasional travel to other European Co-Location Centers.
