Job Description:This is a key R&D position within the Product Development team focused on the development and improvement of new or current products and processes. Responsibilities include improving formulations and investigating optimization opportunities for internal and external Schreiber customers in Europe. The role explores innovative technologies that support strategic initiatives and business objectives. Projects can include new product development, optimization of the existing portfolio, ingredient and supplier changes, and improvement projects across different product categories and locations throughout Europe.
Role & Responsibilities:Lead the development of new products and processes and implement the use of new ingredients and technologies to improve efficiency, sales, and profitability for Schreiber Foods.Work in production and pilot plant locations.Develop defined work plans, conduct experiments, write reports, and maintain a comprehensive understanding of department procedures.Effectively handle pressures from customers, suppliers, partners, and management.Apply an understanding of Schreiber Foods' core and future products and process categories while collaborating with partners in different parts of the organization to solve problems and improve quality.Work collaboratively within the R&D department and product development team to find opportunities, understand processes, and test new experiments and ideas.Develop a good understanding of Schreiber Foods philosophies, processes, and systems to meet customer requirements.Establish a network within Schreiber Foods to effectively complete projects.Maintain a good understanding of the food industry and competitors that impact Schreiber Foods.Maintain a network of key contacts within the industry.Have a good understanding of regulatory standards, labeling issues, and practices.Exercise excellent listening and communication skills, conveying technical concepts to others, writing detailed technical reports, and effectively conducting presentations to inform and influence decisions.Become skilled in new ingredient and formula set-up by developing specifications, plant procedures, and formula guidelines.Plan and conduct scale-up trials for product development.Commercialize newly developed prototypes and achieve technological breakthroughs.Key Ingredients:3 to 5 years of experience in R&D; experience in food manufacturing and in product development, ideally in more than one of the following: development of cream cheese, process cheese, aseptic processing, and hydrocolloids. Knowledge of DOE and data analysis tools and statistical software.
