To give added value to its vaccination experience, the company also develops medical devices and traceability services.The R&D Department in our HIPRA CAMPUS (Aiguaviva, Girona) is seeking a talented and motivated R&D Scientist Molecular Biology and Genomicsto join our multidisciplinary team and manage a molecular biology unit to perform hands-on gene synthesis, cloning, plasmid generation and sequencing activities for biopharmaceutical applications.ResponsibilitiesLead a nucleic acid synthesis, cloning, plasmid production and genome sequencing unit.Supervise QC on the generated constructs to meet the quality requirements.Author and review technical reports that meet CMC requirements and expectations of regulatory agencies.Collaborate with other development teams within the Company, as well as external partners including CROs.Manage a pipeline of multiple workflows in parallel within timelines, ensuring that all tasks and responsibilities are carried out according to high scientific standards. Display effective organization, verbal and written communication skills, and adhere to good documentation practices.Participate in the setup of new laboratory facilities, explore and recommend the implementation of new technologies, manage the incorporation of dedicated equipment, develop and write SOPs for routine use and maintenance, and take charge of periodic qualifications/validationsQualificationsPh.D (2+ years' experience) in life sciences. Industry experience will be valued.Proficient in recombinant DNA technologies (plasmid generation, cloning) and sequencing technologies (Sanger, NGS). Hands-on experience with nucleic acid extractions, library preparation, and genome sequencing.Expertise in sequencing/NGS data interpretation with bioinformatic tools.Ability to independently design and execute complex experimental protocols and interpret data to solve scientific questions and creatively improve and optimize procedures.Experience in lab automation setups and GLP environments, keeping detailed and traceable records on a daily basis.Strong ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary group and with external partners.Good communication skills. Ability to perform verbal and written scientific data presentation. Proficient written and spoken English level
