Location: Madrid (hybrid with 1 day from home)Salary: Starting at €35,000The Indirect Tax Team Leader will be responsible for training, coaching, and developing the VAT Compliance Officers and working closely to support the newest team members. In conjunction with the Head of Indirect Tax of Spain, you will be required to set clear team goals and KPIs and oversee the day-to-day team's operation and performance.Responsibilities include:Set clear team goals.Delegate tasks and set deadlines.Oversee the day-to-day operation.Monitor team performance and report on metrics.Identify training needs and provide coaching.Deliver presentations to provide refresher training to existing members of the team.Keep abreast of industry and legislation changes and communicate to the team accordingly.Provide consultancy and VAT advisory services at the highest standard.File VAT returns in a timely manner, ensuring accuracy, and not incurring penalties.Advise clients which tax office to make payments to.Remind clients proactively in terms of outstanding returns.Ensure that European filings, EC Sales, and Intrastat reporting are in place where required.Notify clients when the account is due for payment and chase them when the account is overdue.Inform clients of potential VAT penalties within all Countries.Correspond with clients in relation to tax authorities in Europe.Essential Skills, Knowledge and Experience Required:Experience working in Law/VAT/Accountancy/Finance.Fluent in Spanish and English with excellent writing and telephone skills.Confident and with excellent communication skills for client interaction and engagement (Email, Phone, and face to face).Experience in leading a team of consultants.Works well in a team as well as independently.Excellent verbal and writing skills.Organised and proven ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.Excellent multi-tasking ability.ABOUT AVASKAVASK Global Compliance is a rapidly expanding firm that specializes in international VAT and tax and accounting for e-commerce businesses that are located internationally and in Spain.AVASK is a recommended External Tax Advisor under the Amazon Global Selling Programme and assists hundreds of Amazon FBA sellers, eBay, Shopify, and many other platforms.
