General: We are seeking a dynamic and energetic Quantity Surveyor to join our team in Spain. The ideal candidate will have some experience in construction and, ideally, with a focus on data centres, renewable energy, and large-scale EPC projects. The candidate will play a support-role to the Senior Quantity Surveyor and/ or Commercial Manager assisting with all commercial elements related to design and build projects.
Report to: Commercial Manager/ Senior Quantity Surveyor
Key Responsibilities: General quantity surveying (measurements, pricing, register-management, administration & reporting) Cost Estimation and Planning (budgeting, tender preparation and assistance with various costing exercises and analysis) Contract Administration (document and contract management, variations and ensuring compliance). Procurement (creation and monitoring of procurement schedule, negotiations, onboarding, price analysis and maintaining procurement information and controls). Revenue management (payment applications, cashflow and opportunity management and pursuit of variations) Cost Control and Reporting (project costs and expenditure monitoring, reporting, tracking and managing project budgets, cost-coding) Risk Management (identifying potential risks, develop and implement risk mitigation strategies, reporting) Project Support (team and project support where needed) Stakeholders & general communication (assist with supplier agreement and sub-contractors management, client-liason, clear transfer of project information, meetings, relationship-building). Preferred qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Cost Engineering, Quantity Surveying or a related field. Professional registration with RICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors), ASAQS or equivalent preferable, but not necessary. Experience: Minimum of 8 years of experience in quantity surveying/ cost engineering. Knowledge of construction and engineering contracts. Experience with construction software preferable. Traits that will be useful: Energy and a willingness to learn Analytical, negotiation and problem-solving skills. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Understanding of environmental and sustainability issues related to the energy sector. Some Spanish language is preferable Ability to work independently Work Environment: This role may require travel to project sites and client meetings and at times, cross-border travel.
