The Opportunity We have a fantastic opportunity to join our team as our Quality Control Shift Operative at our Cement plant in Cauldon.
The QCSO is responsible for conducting day to day testing and non-routine sampling and testing.
This role is responsible for accurate analysis within the statutory legislation and the internal company Quality, Safety, Health and Environmental Standards.
This roles covers a rotating shift 06:00-14:00 / 14:00-22:00 / 22:00-06:00.
Key Responsibilities of the role includes To collect and analyse samples.
To assist with the day-to-day operations in Laboratory To ensure all testing is conducted according to the BS standards To ensure all customer requests are dealt with in a timely fashion.
General cleaning, safety & housekeeping duties.
First line maintenance and calibration duties on laboratory equipment Enter data analysis results in the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
To ensure compliance with all relevant statutory legislation and the internal company Quality, Safety, Health and Environmental Standards Regular testing and analysis of samples including final product (mill and despatch cements), fuels, raw materials, & water etc.
and the requirement to understand and communicate the results.
To ensure all testing of cements meets the required standards and is communicated fully within the department.
Who you are Sampling, physical testing and chemical analysis.
Knowledge of customer requirements.
Experience of XRF and XRD techniques, including calibration procedures.
Knowledge of cement manufacturing would be beneficial.
Thorough knowledge and understanding of environmental and quality standards.
IT literate particularly with Techbase and Microsoft applications Attention to detail and Good standard of Written & Numerical Literacy.
Good communication skills both verbal and Written.
Be self-motivated and able to work effectively under pressure.
No previous experience required.
