We are looking for a Quality Control Engineer for our Technical Department.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities: Ensure conformity of supply/appraise product quality in accordance with contractual requirements, applicable Codes & Standards and Local Regulations.
Familiarize with project specifications and quality control procedures.
Coordinate with Inter discipline(s) within the organization, Third Party Inspection agencies, Client Coordinator (as applicable), and Suppliers.
Study Project specifications and review Supplier QC documents such as ITP/QAP, QC procedures based on Client specifications/Project requirements.
Establish QAP/ITP for each item as required per Purchase requisition, Project specification, and Client special requirements, Codes, and Standards.
Review Manufacturer's Test Certificate for raw material bought out items like plate, pipe, forging, tube, fitting, fasteners, gaskets, valve, etc.
Knowledge in establishing/reviewing WPS, PQR/Review/Witness PQR/WPS & ensure that all required variables, materials & thickness ranges of projects are covered.
Experience in evaluation of NDT of raw materials & welds.
Attend Pre-Inspection Meetings, Kick-off meeting, etc., as required.
Manage Inspections as follows:
Management of Notifications of Inspection as per Project protocol.
Monitor control of Inspection Notifications received from vendor(s)/Sub vendors and send to TPIA's and Client Inspection Coordinator/Team.
Ensure timely Inspection(s) as per Inspection notifications being raised.
Coordinate for Inspection Reports along with supporting documents as soon as Inspection has been completed.
Review/verification of vendor(s) inspection Reports in line with Approved ITP Drawings/Applicable documents/Project specifications.
Ensure that any Observations found during Inspection are communicated to Vendor(s)/contractor and ensure that observations are closed at the earliest. Manage Non-Conformances.
Maintain Status/Records of Inspection Reports & Inspection Release Certificates and ensure they are uploaded to the system in a timely manner.
In some specific cases, the candidate shall perform the inspections at Supplier's workshop carrying out stage-wise inspections as per approved ITP and ensuring availability of calibration certificates of test instruments used during Inspection. Inspection records/reports and supporting documents shall also be reviewed.
Responsible for compliance with project quality procedures being implemented by Vendors & ensuring the traceability and documentation of all materials/Items are available as per QC procedures and guidelines.
Review vendor Final quality Dossiers and support for compiling of final documentation and dossier preparation.
Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering / Diploma or Equivalent.
Experience: Minimum 7 years work experience in vendor inspection of related commodity (pressure equipment such as Fired Heaters, Pressure Vessels, Heat Exchangers, boilers, piping, etc.) including welding inspection, NDE, painting, Witness Factory Acceptance test, as applicable in Oil & Gas, Refinery & Petrochemical Industry.
International Welding Engineer (IWE)/European Welding Engineer (EWE); Certified Welding Inspector (CWI, CSWIP 3.1 or AWS Welding Inspector).
NDE Inspector Level 2 ASNT/EN IOS 9712 (MT, PT, RT, UT, VT).
Certified Painting/Coating Inspector (CIP 2 NACE/AMPP, FROSIO Level 3, BGAS Level 1) would be an added advantage.
