About this opportunity Align Technology ("Align") is a global medical device company engaged in the design, manufacture and marketing of the Invisalign system, the pioneer and most technically advanced clear aligner system on the market, and of the iTero intraoral scanners and services for orthodontic and restorative dentistry.

Align is now looking for a Senior Antitrust Counsel, EMEA who would be responsible for advising on a wide range of antitrust / competition law (hereinafter collectively referred to as "antitrust") matters in EMEA region and support its global antitrust compliance strategy.
Work location In this role, you will: Advise Align on a variety of complex antitrust law and EU regulatory issues.
Work in cross-functional teams and with key stakeholders (including regional GCs, global and regional in-house counsels and business leaders) to develop, execute and improve Align's Global Antitrust Compliance Program, including developing and maintaining best in class policies, delivering risk-based training programs to employees, executing mitigation plans to key enterprise risks, providing sound legal advice to key business stakeholders, and supporting public engagement with regulators and policy makers.
Provide leadership in connection with litigation, administrative proceedings, audits and investigations in antitrust matters.
Analyze antitrust trends and issues arising within the space of medical device, healthcare, digital platform and new technologies that may impact Align's current and future business.
Hire and manage outside counsel as needed.
In this role, you'll need: Fully qualified EU lawyer with in-depth knowledge and experience of EU Competition Law (experience in antitrust / competition law outside of EU will be a plus).
Minimum 8-10+ years PQE, ideally gained in top-tier law firm, antitrust authority or medical device / pharmaceutical / healthcare multinational companies, with considerable experience in economic and data analysis.
Demonstrated ability to spot antitrust and competition issues and risks, develop mitigation strategies and move strategies into action.
Deep expertise in dealing with competition authority inquiries in nascent industry with significant R&D investment, IP, procedure data, that is driving transformation of an analog industry to digital with a digital platform that combines capital equipment, software, consumables and other technologies.
A global mindset, a passion for antitrust and competition law and a sense of humor.
Exceptional ability to communicate complex competition and antitrust guidance and strategy in simple understandable terms using practical analogies and visuals.
