He/she will be responsible for managing and leading a team of multi-disciplinary consultants with the ability to maneuver easily between single and multiple projects. They will be required to provide creative direction to their team, coaching team members, and encouraging and supporting their Team Leaders.
This Senior Rail Architect will be highly skilled in the development and direction of large-scale, programmatically complex transportation and infrastructure projects in international contexts. S/he will develop and grow relationships with new and existing clients that produce new and continued business. This innovative leader will demonstrate a propensity for problem solving, solutions-focused approach, creative strategy development, and sustainable design, and exhibit highly evolved business and financial management skills. A dynamic and fully engaged communicator, s/he will be an active participant in industry events and provide organizational, leadership, communication, and relationship management firm-wide.
Minimum Requirements6+ years of experience in Transportation Architecture inclusive of 4 years of design and management experience with Rail Infrastructure projects at multiple scales.Strong knowledge of current and emerging trends, clients, and the Transportation sector including Rail and Transit.Strong knowledge and experience of the total Design and Assurance process in Rail Projects from concept through construction and testing and commissioning, with an understanding of different and innovative delivery methods.Demonstrates creativity, foresight, and mature architectural judgment in anticipating and solving complex architectural challenges.Must be a team player and mentor with a proven track record of success working with teams, clients, sub-consultants, and vendors while completing large, complex projects.Ability to develop collaborative relationships across the firm, with clients and other key constituents that create a competitive advantage.Propensity for problem-solving, brand development, and sustainable design.Excellent communicator with strong presentation skills - written, oral, and graphic.Ability to maintain a balance between business development, financial management, and staff development duties within the group.Significant understanding of financial components and management of financials within budget at a project and at a group level.Proven understanding of market forces pertaining to fees, scope, and schedule requirements.LEED or BREEAM Accreditation is desirable.Excellent English communication skills. Use of other languages is desirable.Understanding and/or Experience with BIM environment.Working knowledge of AutoCAD and/or MicroStation.Understanding and/or Experience with graphics programs and modelling and rendering programs is desirable.Ability to travel.Preferred QualificationsProfessional Degree in Architecture or Architecture Licensure required.
