Geotab is seeking an Electronics Technician with previous experience in similar roles, strong manual dexterity and experience working with test measuring tools.What you'll do: As an Electronics Technician you will be focused on assisting the Hardware Design team in prototyping, testing and sourcing activities. Direct collaboration with Certification, Design Validation and Production is expected through the generation of relevant tooling and documentation. Emphasis is placed on quick turnaround of requests and finding ways to improve integration process for new devices and new component testing activities.This position works closely with internal teams to understand the required goals for each project and become part of an internal technical support team.How you'll make an impact:Understand how to build, program and test the Geotab devices.Assembly, troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical prototypes, harnesses and engineering tooling for different stakeholders.Load appropriate firmware on devices as requested by the certification specialist.Enforce and maintain Embedded Inventory control, including labeling.Coordinate the purchases and control asset availability outside inventory.Participate in pre-compliance activities from the engineering team.Participate in documenting procedures, device diagnostics, establishing best practices, templates, and tools to expand team capabilities.Work with internal teams to support all automation functions.Assist in Hardware design activities including component library/sample management with sourcing.Reverse engineering/benchmark equipment acquisition and testing.Lab maintenance.What you'll bring to this role:3-5 years of experience in electronics testing, rework (up to BGA components) and troubleshooting.Good verbal and excellent writing communication skills in both Spanish and English.Ability to read technical drawings and schematics
