SUMMARY OF ROLEMaxeon is seeking a Business Development and Channel Director to lead the BD efforts related to the development of new channels and manage and grow Maxeon's dealer channel in an assigned area in collaboration with the existing Channel team and the business unit Sales Directors.
The position reports to the VP of Strategy and BD.
This role would suit a self-motivated, results-oriented manager who is comfortable in an entrepreneurial environment, capable of driving and coordinating internal stakeholders at all levels of the organization and has the ability to drive tactical execution of high-level channel strategy.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESBusiness Development for New Channels: Lead the strategic analysis, planning and development of new channels, business models, new geographies and segments in the assigned markets/segments.
Define the model and negotiate with external stakeholders like EV Car manufacturers, EV Car Dealers or Financiers.
Propose and negotiate with companies/groups to build alliances that make the channel stronger.
Provide input for the development/improvement of platforms, products and services needed to develop the new channels.
Collaborate and coordinate with the Channel Team, the Product and the Marketing Teams.Channel Management: Define channel management strategy and programs in the assigned markets and segments.
Drive channel program execution and evolution.
Manage the product and service launch process to the channel including a launch calendar, development roadmaps, product and service volume forecasts, product and service penetration strategy and metrics.
Manage channel strategy execution including implementing dealer agreements, monitoring dealer performance against agreements, refining dealer recruitment processes, building dealer growth models.
Support, direct and influence channel pricing approach with Sales Directors and within committed financial plans.
Participate in channel planning process including interfacing with finance as part of long-term planning, interfacing with sales operations on near-term tactical issues.
Own the dealer network growth planning process, supported by the dealer growth model.
Research and analyze target markets, new and existing.
Manage channel competitive data including detailed analysis of region by region program data.
Manage tactical channel issues: managing channel conflict, channel communication strategy and execution.
Provide channel input for the development/improvement of products and services attractive for the channel.
Implement programs to drive adoption of new products and services.SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONSUndergraduate degree in relevant field; MBA or other advanced degree preferred.10+ years of relevant experience, preferably including 3 years of channel management experience with a global company managing a dealer/installer network.Understanding of independently owned dealer networks or distribution arrangements.Familiarity with manufacturer/distributor co-branding go-to-market approaches.Familiarity with energy and residential and commercial solar markets in Europe preferred.Understanding and access to other potential channels like the car industry.Strong skills in financial analysis and modeling.Energy, forward-thinking and creative attitude.
Aggressive in pursuing opportunities.Ability to remain calm in the face of often chaotic market conditions and developing internal systems.Vision, sound technical skills, analytical ability, good judgment, and strong operational focus.Strong leadership and collaboration skills with an ability to balance and prioritize competing interests.Great communicator with ability to create and maintain internal and external customer relationships.Ability to drive collaboration across function and level within the business, including effectively driving action from colleagues in higher level positions.Creative problem-solving abilities under pressure essential.Ability to work autonomously to meet multiple concurrent objectives and within an international team, with diverse cultures.Resilience and capacity to work and progress in front of ambiguous environments.Fluent in English and a second European language.
