Be involved in day-to-day audit work on operations and advise the Financial Controller on market conditions.
Implement and maintain policies and procedures on the procurement process.
Support and encourage cost control objectives and maintain traces for audit.
Obtain quotations and complete market surveys to ensure high-quality products at the best prices.
Negotiate with suppliers to achieve this aim.
Place purchase orders and ensure delivery of supplies and equipment to the hotel by the required deadlines.
Maintain purchasing records and review periodically regarding minimum stock levels.
Review and refine equipment specifications with Department Heads for effective completion of the Capital Expenditure Budget.
Organize and attend information meetings between suppliers and Managers regarding major purchases or projects.
Maintain equipment and supplies catalogues and an inventory of various products in the market to provide immediate service to colleagues.
Ensure all purchases are streamlined, maximizing savings where possible without sacrificing quality.
Liaise closely with the Executive Chef to ensure food purchases are delivered on time and to the specified quality standard.
Keep up to date with import requirements, duties, and banking practices, facilitating efficient importation of necessary goods.
Identify and recruit Accounting & Finance employees who can work within the decentralized Management Philosophy, following outlined Financial, Operational, and Administrative Philosophies and supporting ACCOR Philosophy of Multi-Skilling and Multi-Tasking.
Ensure each Accounting & Finance Supervisor plans and implements effective training programs for their staff with the Training Manager and Departmental Trainers.
Ensure each Head of Department maximizes productivity and morale within their departments and consistently maintains discipline following hotel Policies & Procedures and local legislation.
Develop departmental trainers, assign training responsibilities, and meet with Departmental Trainers monthly.
Prepare weekly work schedules in accordance with workload and priorities for approval by the Director of Finance.
Conduct yearly performance appraisals and provide employees with regular feedback on their performance.
Project a positive and motivated attitude and exercise self-control at all times.
Carry out quarterly, bi-yearly, and yearly inventory of operating equipment.
Qualifications 5-7 years of experience in major hotel operations or head office.
Experience in the Saudi Arabia market.
Previous experience in strategic sourcing and category management.
Fluent in English and Arabic.
Previous exposure to Leadership and stakeholder management roles.
Good communication skills.
