With a strong international presence, this company seeks a Purchasing Manager to drive their procurement strategy and contribute to their continued growth.
The company is a leader in distributing chemical products and plastic raw materials , operating in domestic and international markets.
They have a solid presence abroad with subsidiaries and representative offices and are headquartered in Barcelona.
Key Responsibilities: • Develop and propose the procurement strategy for plastics and chemicals, working closely with other departments such as Sales, Logistics, and Accounting, with defined objectives and timelines.
• Lead and manage the purchasing operations for plastics and chemicals in line with the approved strategy.
• Maintain strong relationships with existing suppliers while seeking and establishing connections with new suppliers .
• Optimize the organization of the Purchasing department and ensure smooth coordination with other departments.
• Propose and implement organizational and operational improvements to enhance efficiency and competitiveness .
Requirements: Education: • University degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering is mandatory.
Languages: • Proficiency in English is essential, and French is highly valued.
IT Skills: • Competent user of standard office applications.
Personal Attributes: • Rigorous and organized.
• Self-motivated with a high degree of autonomy.
• Strong negotiation skills, both for one-off and recurring negotiations.
• Empathetic team leader with the ability to motivate and foster cohesion within the department.
• Excellent communicator and a team player.
Experience: • Proven experience in the chemical or plastics industry , either in raw materials, processes, or machinery, on a national and international level .
• Specific experience in purchasing plastics and chemicals is highly valued.
• Suitable for a candidate in the final stages of junior-level experience or an early-stage senior.
Additional Information: • Willingness to travel (to suppliers, fairs, etc.)
as required.
• Candidates who slightly deviate from the profile will also be considered.
• Reports to the General Director .
