The Position
Reporting to the Senior Director, Public Affairs (EU5), this role is responsible for delivering strategic branded and unbranded external communication programs for Gilead's Oncology area.
Works closely with the TA teams based at Stockley Park and Foster City and local market cross-functional TA colleagues.
Job Duties Include: Representing Public Affairs internally as part of the cross-functional team and externally with a variety of different stakeholders.Setting new TA communications strategy for the market in alignment with global direction and local market input.Coordination with cross-functional colleagues to ensure alignment and collaboration in strategic priorities and messaging across different stakeholders.Providing leadership and support for the implementation of in-market PR activities.Development/strengthening of relationships with a wide variety of external organizations and professionals, media, and other influential organizations in those TAs.Preparation of communications materials, including strategic programs, key messages, Q&A documents, press releases, presentations, etc.Response to media requests and coordination of interviews with Gilead spokespeople and opinion leader spokespeople as appropriate.Issues mitigation and management.Understanding of the regulatory frameworks in the market and ability to manage approvals and interactions with the review team.Knowledge, Experience and Skills: Market level or pan-EU experience in product PR, media, and advocacy.Ability to understand and accurately communicate complex science.Demonstrated experience in media relations (traditional and social), issues management; knowledge of healthcare and industry media and reporting trends.
