AIG has opportunities for a Sr. Complex Claims Adjuster within its Financial Lines Claims Department.
As a Sr. Complex Claims Adjuster, you will be responsible for handling a pending case load of approximately 150 claims of high complexity.
For D&O Liability claims, these high exposure claims include collective shareholder actions, regulatory investigations, bankruptcy claims, etc.
You will also handle claims under other Financial Lines policies such as Professional Indemnity claims, Cyber, Employment Practices Liability, Crime, and Pension Trustee Liability.
The Financial Lines Complex Claims Adjuster is responsible for making coverage determinations, evaluating liability, and damages.
What you need to know: To handle Line of Business (LoB) portfolio of claims from coverage enquiry through legal liability assessment (where relevant) and quantum analysis, to timely and accurate resolution; ensuring mitigation of indemnity and expense exposure while communicating developments and outcomes as necessary to all key internal and external stakeholders.Managing complex claims handling enquiry; coverage determination, quantum analysis, and legal liability assessment, where appropriate.Establishing reserves on a timely basis.Monitoring high exposure claims in the portfolio of open claims through a Global Claims Tracker.Interfacing with insureds, brokers, and counsel to resolve claims.Providing superior customer service, directing investigations, managing litigation, analyzing coverage, preparing coverage position letters, formulating/documenting claim handling and resolution strategies.Managing counsel and experts to control expenses and working closely with counsel and experts to evaluate losses and reach cost-effective claim resolutions.Collaborating with underwriting partners on existing claims and trends to support business efforts and make presentations to both Claims and Underwriting management.Communicating with underwriting on policy renewals and promoting client relationships.Position requires occasional travel to attend client service meetings, settlement meetings, and trials.What we're looking for: Proven relevant and extensive experience in the handling of high complex insurance claims or litigation, as a specialist in FL technical claims topics.Law degree is strongly preferred.Fluent in English.Policy language skills enabling accurate and consistent policy wording interpretation.A strong knowledge of legal/regulatory and litigation/procedural requirements.Experienced in stakeholder management, both internal (underwriting, distribution, finance, and executive management) and external (brokers, major account clients).Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (both written and oral) to effectively and professionally interact with brokers, insureds, counsel, and other industry professionals.Outstanding negotiation skills.Attention to detail.Good time management and prioritization skills.Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Office).We are an Equal Opportunity Employer.
