This is a highly networked role that requires an ability to work under pressure and to challenging deadlines.DTN Business Area:The Proposal Engineer will work in DTN Weather Systems, which is focused on providing solutions to efficiently collect, manage, and disseminate local Weather & Environmental information to support our customers in their operational needs.Core Responsibilities:Interpret enquiries and requests for quotations to have an initial understanding of the customer's requirements.Analyze complex/multi-technology Request For Proposal / Quotation / Invitation to Tender (RFP/RFQ/ITT) with ability to draft amendments during the influence phase.Contribute to identify and qualify the opportunity.Define the most suitable technical solution according to DTN business model and solutions portfolio, in collaboration with Sales, Product, Engineering, and Software teams, and build the costing analysis accordingly.Contact suppliers/subcontractors to request quotations against specifications and T&C's.Enhance & consolidate quotes to reach target price while avoiding rejection and margin slippage.Coordinate and review/edit proposal input from a variety of stakeholders, typically involving contributions from Sales, Product, Engineering, Software, Execution Teams, as well as Finance and Legal Departments.Produce and deliver compliant, professionally produced proposals including a comprehensive and well-organized set of documentation with prices, commercial conditions, comments and deviations, technical descriptions, and other documentation to be submitted to customers at defined deadlines.Manage the tender risk analysis involving relevant internal stakeholders.Manage the approval process before the tender submission.Support the Business Development Manager during customer negotiations and closing of the deal.Handover the Project to the Execution Team when it has resulted in a Contract/Purchase Order.Use knowledge of market levels, competitors, contractors, etc
