This role offers the opportunity to manage diverse and exciting projects, combining technical expertise with leadership skills while collaborating with international experts and contributing to cutting-edge technologies that play a critical role in advancing cancer treatment.
Your Mission
As a Project Manager-Upgrades, you will play a pivotal role in delivering upgrades to our Proton Therapy (PT) sites, ensuring on-time, on-budget, and high-quality execution. You will:
Deliver Excellence: Implement PT product features aligned with our strategic roadmaps, meeting stringent medical device quality standards. This role allows you to work on a variety of projects, ensuring every day offers something new and engaging.Coordinate Projects: Organize and manage the collaboration of cross-functional teams, including PT sites, flying teams, technical operations, R&D, Quality and Logistics, ensuring smooth execution and alignment with project objectives. This aspect of the role helps build a robust professional network within IBA and across global teams.Manage Budgets and Resources: Track project budgets and allocate resources effectively to meet financial and operational goals.Manage Risks: Proactively address technical, financial, and resource-related challenges, ensuring the seamless delivery of impactful upgrades.Be the Key Interface: Act as the primary contact point for both internal stakeholders and external customers, ensuring satisfaction and smooth communication. Your interactions will provide opportunities to broaden your perspective and maintain a strategic, 'helicopter view' of projects while staying rooted in technical challenges.Drive Success: Report on progress to stakeholders, follow up on KPIs, and develop actionable plans to meet project goals.Transfer and Close Projects: Ensure a seamless handover to internal and external customers and organize project closure, contributing to IBA's innovative mission to fight cancer. What You'll Work On
At any given time, you will lead multiple projects:
Sold Upgrade Projects: Delivering new PT features to our Installed Base customers, requiring customer interaction.Deployment Projects: IBA led initiatives aligned with our strategic objectives. Primarily software and hardware updates aimed at improving system performance, safety improvements, and addressing obsolescence issues.This role also involves:
Following up on project timelines, budgets, and actions.Resolving and escalating roadblocks with cross-functional teams.Travelling occasionally (~20%), while primarily working remotely, offering a strong work-life balance.What we valueWhat We're Looking For
• Educational Background: Engineering degree in electromechanics, electronics, software or similar fields.
• Location: Based in Europe, with a preference for proximity to Louvain-la-Neuve, Madrid, Milan, or the UK.
• Soft Skills: Highly organized, structured, and diplomatic communicator.
• Experience: Prior experience in project management within the medical devices or similar industries is ideal.
