Project Manager Sustainable Packaging Materials

The Technology Center ITENE, based in Paterna (Valencia), is looking for a Senior Project Manager in Sustainable Packaging Materials. The main purpose of the role is to lead R&D projects in the field of development of new materials (both Technical and economical part) for packaging applications.Your main responsabilities:* Coordination of the technical team in charge of the project, as well as the excellence of the results obtained.* To Develop formulations of new materials with improved performance, mixtures and / or composites for packaging applications in the field of projects in line with the circular economy: Recycled polyolefins and polyesters, Bioplastics, Biopolymers and new materials.* Designing experiments for the improvement of the materials to be developed using different technologies such as nanotechnology, reactive extrusion, chemical functionalization.* To design and optimization of the processing and transformation operations of polymeric materials such as extrusion, compounding and reactive extrusion, as well as simulation of processes and evaluation of their results, as well as analyze and characterization of the different materials developed.* Writing proposals about European programs.* Supporting the sales department, identifying new opportunities and visiting customers.* Dissemination and presentation of results in different scientific fields (congresses, conferences, events, etc.).* To research, evaluate and generate new lines of knowledge for the materials production, in the packaging area.* Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or Industrial Engineering; a PhD in Materials Science or Chemistry, and/or Master's degree related to new materials is a plus.* More than 5 years of demonstrable experience in team management and execution of R&D projects.* Knowledge in: Biomaterials and specialization course in thermoplastic processing technologies; polymer synthesis, polymerization, renewable materials and knowledge in characterization of structural properties of polymers; plastic transformation technologies, nanotechnology and/or nano composites.* Fluent English minimum B2/C1.* Willingness to travel on an occasional basis at national, European and international level.#J-18808-Ljbffr
