THE ROLE
Due to continued growth, we're seeking a highly motivated, intelligent, and energetic Project Manager & Product Owner to guide the development of our Platforms. Passion and knowledge of the crypto space are essential for excelling in this role, as you'll be at the forefront of bridging product vision with technical execution. This role is available for qualified candidates based in Europe, with a hybrid work model available for candidates located in our offices in Malta, Madrid, or Lyon.
Reporting to our Chief Product Officer and with a dotted line to our Director of Engineering, you will work closely with our development teams to ensure each product release meets technical, business, quality, and functional goals. As Product Owner, you'll lead the design, usability, quality, and delivery of the technical platform team, setting priorities, guiding design decisions, and aligning all stakeholders throughout the development lifecycle. As Project Manager, you'll handle the management of larger cross-functional projects, with a focus on dependency mapping, risk assessment, and timeline adherence.
Why This Dual Role?
We strive to empower our feature teams to work as independently as possible, reducing interdependencies to minimize complexity. When teams can operate autonomously, this role leans more toward product ownership, focusing on prioritizing features and driving product direction. However, during larger initiatives that require extensive cross-team collaboration, the role shifts toward project management, overseeing dependencies, aligning timelines, and ensuring cohesive delivery across teams. This dynamic approach allows us to maintain agility while achieving alignment on complex, strategic goals.
Responsibilities & Duties:
As Product Owner of the Platform Team:

Collaborate with the Technical Lead to translate high-level business requirements into detailed user stories, suitable for sprint execution by the development teams.
Develop clear and detailed product specifications, ensuring the development team fully understands requirements before implementation.
Gather necessary resources—such as wireframes, designs, assets, and documentation—from stakeholders and deliver these alongside technical specifications.
Maintain the Product Backlog, regularly updating it to reflect ongoing priorities and any new insights.
Assess the value of each feature, create business cases, and prioritize stories and epics to align with product strategy and maximize value.
Inspire and energize the development team to create innovative and valuable solutions with an appropriate sense of urgency.
Ensure the team has a sufficient backlog of well-prepared tasks to maintain smooth progress.
Engage continuously with customers and stakeholders to verify that the product meets market needs and delivers expected ROI.
Act as a technical product ambassador both internally and externally, handling all product-related technical inquiries.

As Project Manager for Cross-Team Initiatives:

Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans that outline tasks, resources, and dependencies across teams.
Facilitate cross-functional communication to ensure alignment on goals, dependencies, and timelines.
Conduct thorough risk assessments to identify potential blockers early on and develop contingency plans.
Coordinate regular project check-ins and report progress to stakeholders, ensuring transparency and managing expectations.
Actively track and adjust project milestones and deliverables to adhere to timelines, managing any deviations with a proactive approach.

Requirements:

Project Management Proficiency: Experience managing projects, creating project plans, and maintaining documentation. Proficient in development phases and capable of communicating feedback effectively to lead teams toward successful outcomes.
Agile Methodology Mastery: Comprehensive knowledge of Agile frameworks, specifically SCRUM and KANBAN. Ability to implement Agile principles promptly and participate in Agile team rituals, including Sprint planning, daily Scrum, Refinement, and Retrospective meetings.
Prioritization & Simplicity: In line with Agile principles, the Product Owner must excel at prioritizing tasks to optimize productivity and reduce non-essential work, focusing on the most impactful deliverables.
Crypto Knowledge: A strong understanding of cryptocurrency technologies. Ideally, you have actively traded crypto, conducted research into blockchain technologies, or have experience within the industry.
Stakeholder Management: Skilled in building robust relationships with both internal stakeholders and external clients to drive optimal outcomes and product value.
