Sant Joan de Déu, Serveis Socials València is seeking a highly motivated Project Manager to join our Research & Innovation team in Valencia, Spain within the European project COMHOM.
COMHOM - A comprehensive approach to Combating Homelessness through monitoring and evaluation, data-driven solutions and digitalisation - seeks to enhance digitalisation processes among homeless response services, fostering Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) culture in the sector and ultimately promoting a personalized and more efficient use of resources in homelessness response. This initiative involves the development and pilot testing of data-driven digital tools and a robust M&E framework, coupled with a comprehensive capacity-building agenda.
These efforts aim to streamline service delivery, improve outcome tracking, and holistically enhance the quality of care provided to the homeless population, contributing to the prevention and reduction of homelessness. SJDVAL is leading Work Package 3 (WP3) on developing a Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) framework, with specific actions that include:
Identification of relevant factors involved in European homelessness,
Establishment of a common Theory of Change,
Development of a comprehensive and feasible set of variables for the M&E framework.
The ideal candidate will have 1-3 years' experience in managing innovation projects from EU-funded projects, and international work in the field of Social Sciences and Humanities. He or she will proactively manage multiple deadlines simultaneously, taking ownership and responsibility for getting things done with an eye for professional quality and detail. Candidates must hold a PhD in Social Sciences and be able to quickly understand technical and human aspects of research and innovation projects. Perfect spoken and written English is a must.
The candidate will be integrated in the Research Department and shall be responsible for the effective implementation of COMHOM.
Key responsibilities
Coordination of day to day internal work according to work plan and coordinator's orientations (control of quality process, periodic internal meetings and agendas, distribution of work, follow up of deadlines),
Coordination of WP3 (Monitoring and evaluation framework) where SJD VAL is leader, organization of meetings, collecting documents, writing activity reports and deliverables when SJD VAL is responsible,
Preparation of agendas and presentations for meetings of WP3 and related committees (advisory board, external experts…) participation in meeting, draft minutes,
Resolution of conflict, orientation of partners toward work plan, guidance of consortium toward objectives of WP3,
Support in the research process of WP3 (literature review, reading and synthesis of scientific articles, information gathering through quantitative and qualitative techniques, data analysis, elaboration of results and discussion...).
Minimum Requirements
PhD, with scientific background and experience in the social field.
Proven experience in project management, preferably in the field of social sciences and homelessness,
Understanding of both qualitative and quantitative research approaches, including methods, techniques, and the underlying theories, theory of change, evaluation frameworks and methods.
Strong organization and time management skills. Ability to prioritise and organise project workload and meet time-critical schedules,
Ability to work under pressure with strict deadlines while maintaining accuracy and thorough attention to detail,
Good communication skills, specially ability to negotiate and reach consensus
Computer Skills: Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)
Good interpersonal skills and the ability and flexibility to liaise with a variety of people,
Proactivity, and oriented to problem solving,
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Additional skills of interest:
Experience/knowledge in Evaluation of social public policies.
Knowledge/interest in housing exclusion and homelessness.
Knowledge of transversal issues valued such as ethical/regulatory processes, data management.
Required languages: English and Spanish advanced level written and spoken.

A full time contract with a trial period of 4 months, 39 hour per week.
