.ALBA is the Spanish synchrotron light source, a large research infrastructure operating ten beamlines, complementary facilities, and an Electron Microscopy Center, currently constructing multiple more beamlines, expanding the Electron Microscopy Center, and integrating advanced data analytics, geared toward finding solutions to societal challenges.Located in Cerdanyola del Vallès (Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain), it is funded by the Spanish Government (Ministerio de Ciencia e Innovación) and the Catalan Government (Generalitat de Catalunya, Departament de Recerca i Universitats). The synchrotron light produced by 3 GeV electrons is used by thousands of researchers to analyze and understand the properties and functionality of matter, spanning a wide variety of fields, such as catalytic research, health, energy production/storage, environmental research, communication technologies, or cultural heritage. Our highly motivated staff works in a multidisciplinary work environment with an atmosphere formed by lived diversity, inclusion, and respect for our colleagues. One of the goals of our gender equality plan is to reach parity within the Consortium's different divisions and offices, and several actions have been taken to encourage applications from women mostly in scientific, engineering, and technical job positions.Being a part of the ALBA team will promote your career and give you the opportunities to explore new territories. The successful candidate shall work in the Projects Office Group at the Transversal Section of the Engineering Division with the following main tasks:Mechanical design (from the conceptual design up to the detailed design) of devices/systems for synchrotron instrumentation including generation of specifications (picked up from the scientific needs), design reports, and performance/acceptance test reports. The Project engineer is responsible for the 3D files obtained as output of the design, including assemblies and FEM. They are also the responsible/spoke person in the different design review meetings.Supervision and approval of the manufacturing documentation (2D drawings) produced by the draftsman at the transversal section.Follow-up of the manufacturing process (requestor of purchase orders, contracts, and preparation/follow-up of call for tenders if necessary). Follow-up of the in-house manufacturing.Test and validation of the manufactured devices/systems. Acceptance test reports and mechanical metrology.Support to other groups and divisions (experiments division and accelerators division) on the development of mechanical devices and systems.Requirements The candidate must hold a degree in Industrial Engineering in the specialty of mechanics, as well as a related master's degree. The candidate should have good oral/written English communication skills.Selection Process Development The selection will be carried out through the competition-opposition system
