Project Engineer - Concentrated Solar Plants (CSP)Holtec is seeking an experienced professional with project engineer expertise to support the growth of the company's core business in the energy industry, specifically in Concentrated Solar Power Plants (CSP) business. This role requires specific focus on CSP technology, including thermal energy storage. The Project Engineer will report to the Holtec Europe Program Manager and will be based in Madrid, Spain. The position will require travel to client offices, fabrication facilities, and potential project sites around the world.
As a Project Engineer specializing in Concentrated Solar Plants (CSP), you will play a pivotal role in the design, engineering, development, and execution of large-scale solar energy projects, including thermal storage capabilities and combined with nuclear power plants.
Minimum Responsibilities:Develop technical requirements and specifications documents for CSP.Coordinate the design and optimization of CSP systems, including solar collectors, heat exchangers, thermal energy storage, etc. within the company, while adhering to industry standards and regulations.Identify suitable vendors for CSP projects, and coordinate and manage communications with them.Conduct feasibility studies, site assessments, and technical evaluations to determine project viability and optimal design solutions.Develop project plans, schedules, and budgets in coordination with project managers and stakeholders.Prepare technical reports, presentations, and documentation to communicate project status, key milestones, and performance metrics to Holtec's management effectively.Provide support to Holtec's US-based project team during execution of projects, supporting the resolution of any technical issues with the client and interfacing with local subcontractors.Support business development team in the technical aspects of CSP for proposal preparation, and attend conferences and marketing events that result in new business.Additional Responsibilities (depending upon candidate's technical capabilities and interests):Work with the project team to ensure that all requirements are met in the design, manufacturing and installation stages.Support review of contracts with Holtec's legal team and add value with regards to risk identification and mitigation strategies.Manage/Coordinate Quality Oversight of local subcontractors.Job Requirements:Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or related Engineering or Scientific discipline.Minimum of 5 years' experience in the energy industry, preferably in CSP plants.Minimum of 5 years' experience as a Project Engineer.Strong understanding of CSP technologies, including solar thermal collectors, thermal energy storage, power cycles, etc.Fluent in English language.Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.Prefer Chartered Engineer status, but not required.To apply please email your resume and cover letter to ******.
