.RoleAt Hyren Renewables we are looking for a highly motivated individual to play a key role in supporting the development of our projects.
Based in Madrid, the Development Associate will assist in the development activities of Hyren's project portfolio, reporting to the development team in Madrid.
This is primarily a project-level role.
The candidate must assist the project development team in their day-to-day activities, overseeing compliance with contractual obligations and evaluating the quality of work performed by Hyren's developers, assist with ordinary corporate and administrative duties, liaising with external advisors and assisting the mergers and acquisitions teams, financing, engineering, and operation when necessary.
The candidate would also use their experience and intelligence to identify risks and guide Hyren in understanding the risks facing these projects.
The candidate must be mature enough to be able to represent Hyren's interests to local teams and stakeholders, and be confident to advocate for Hyren proactively, even if the developer or stakeholders oppose that position.
The candidate should be familiar with all aspects of developing renewable energy projects in the country, whether it is hydrogen, solar, or wind.
During the development phase, the candidate will collaborate with Hyren's internal and external teams to ensure that projects obtain all necessary permits, authorizations, and licenses to achieve Ready to Build ("RTB") status, on time.Main activities and responsibilities
- Assist the Project Development team in their daily activities.
- Ensure that project VDRs are updated with relevant documentation throughout each stage of project development.
- Help track the development status of projects in your portfolio, serving as a liaison with developers to help deliver projects to RTB on time.
- Control of internal and external development costs and budgeting.
- Monitor compliance with contractual obligations and evaluate the quality of work performed by Hyren developers.
- Project scheduling management through activity definition, sequencing, resources, and duration estimation.
- Management of public and community relations with respect to the Project.
- Help implement the company's ESG policy locally in compliance with modern standards, regulations, and industry best practices.
Bring any ESG issues to the attention of the development team as soon as possible, gather nformation related to them, and when included, engage with stakeholders if appropriate.General Abilities / Attributes
- Master's Degree in Engineering.
- 2-3 years minimum of experience in the energy industry in project development, project management.
- Complete understanding of the development, construction and operation processes of hydrogen, solar or wind projects.
- Experience in dealing with utilities, distributors and generators, as well as a good network of contacts in those companies, is desirable
