The Job We are currently recruiting a Project Coordinator M&E with previous experience within the MICE industry to join our passionate team in JTB Spain. This position will be based in Madrid or Barcelona. Japan destination knowledge and Japanese speaking & writing are big advantages. Candidates should ideally come from an event agency or a DMC and have previously worked with a wide range of clients. End-to-end event/project management is key, and candidates must be able to manage the full scope of their own events, from answering client requests/briefs with the best tailored proposals to financial reconciliation. Responsibilities include: Create, plan, and deliver large-scale events for a variety of foreign clients throughout the year. Proposal creation and pitch, when required. Full logistics including accommodation bookings and all land arrangements throughout the full domestic territory. Supplier management prior to, during, and after the event. Negotiating with third parties to maximize value creation. Client and account management to ensure repeat business. Onsite management of the event. Budget management and post-event reconciliation. Reporting to various stakeholders. The ideal candidate for this position must have: A passion for their job and the fast-paced event industry. A natural curiosity for the hospitality environment and the passion to share their enthusiasm & knowledge. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Enthusiasm in delivering outstanding results. The ability to prioritize and multi-task in a complex environment. The ability to run a number of different events in parallel and manage a wide range of third parties. Essential requirements: Previous experience/working knowledge in the MICE industry for at least 3 years. Fluent in Spanish, English, and Japanese. Written and verbal language skills are essential.
