What We Are Looking for: ISGlobal is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and motivated technician with transferable skills from other disciplines to join a dynamic and multidisciplinary team, contributing to the Health Systems Research Group's public health work on liver health. Because one multi-year project will focus on advanced diagnostics (including artificial intelligence, digital tools, and hardware), prior professional background and experience with some aspect of hardware, software, the Internet of Things, and/or machine learning is strongly preferred for collaboration with the team.
Training and experience / Qualifications: Educational background: Relevant bachelor of science degree in mathematics, data science, or a related data-intensive discipline.

Technical Skills: Statistics & Mathematics; R or Python; Textual or Visual Data MethodologiesProject Skills: Ability to support project planning, coordination, and implementationExcellent management, project planning, and organizational skillsComfortable in an international and multicultural environmentAble to prioritize tasks from both a direct reporting line (to the project manager) but also on a dotted line basis receiving task direction from the principal investigator and team researchers on an episodic basisWilling to learn and grow while facing challenges as a learning opportunity Key Responsibilities:Support science writing, dissemination, and communication, ranging from less formal writing (e.g., blogging), documentation (e.g., Wikis, white papers, briefs) and more formal writing (e.g., peer-reviewed publications).Analyze pre-existing hardware, software, and data sources directly and indirectly applicable to liver health, recommend approaches (such as APIs and other software tools) for concepting new research pathways to synthesize and communicate liver health risks generally and diagnostic opportunities specifically; introduce concepts and early-stage prototypes for both text- and visual-tools and communications to relevant research and project teams.Provide general technical support to the research teams on an as-needed basis, such as data analytics and insights (e.g., data management, R or Excel) in close collaboration with research assistants and the principal investigator on core projects.Provide occasional cross-training and spot-coaching to team members on tools, data workflows, and methodologies.Participate in relevant ISGlobal seminars or workshops.Other responsibilities as required.
