Summary In this role, the Production Planner will work closely with the sales team, operations team, customer service team and other key stakeholders to meet customer needs.
The Production Planner will interact daily with other manufacturing sites including West Branch MI and Barcelona Spain.
The Production Planner will review Customer needs, incoming orders, and production capacity to prioritize and align production orders based on resources (machines and labor) to meet Hyperion's targets.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Work closely with customer service and sales to review new orders and specifications.
Work with suppliers to order and follow-up orders of raw materials, including pre-forms from different Hyperion sites or external vendors.
Manage orders for subcontractors.
Support logistical needs to the shipping department while importing or exporting goods.
Work with ERP to setup new items, production routings and load accurate cost models based on determined process steps.
Release manufacturing orders for production and engage with supervisors to follow-up and provide priorities based on customer input.
Work with outside sales to gain an accurate forecast and use the data for appropriate capacity planning and job scheduling.
Keep customers and outside sales updated on order progress and delays.
Engage with grinding operators to improve job routing and process steps.
Assist with troubleshooting first piece job flows and make corrections with the operators on the floor and to pre-forms as appropriate.
Participate in key customer meetings as needed to build customer relationships and confidence.

Occasional Travel Education and/or Work Experience B.S.
degree in business, supply chain or engineering preferred.
Ability to read and interpret Engineering drawings and the GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) associated with that drawing.
Excellent planning and organizational skills with the ability to manage resources and workflow are essential.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (PowerPoint and Excel) Demonstrated interpersonal / teamwork and leadership skills.
Must possess ability to influence people to achieve department and plant mission, vision, and objectives.
Ability to utilize Lean Manufacturing principles, and maintenance accurate throughput and quality records.
Demonstrated results orientation, independent performance, and ability to effectively balance priorities and multiple tasks to achieve production goals and provide timely communication as it impacts stakeholders.
Strong analytical, problem solving, lean thinking and statistical process control skills are desired.
Ability to be resourceful, demonstrate business acumen, creative thinking skills and be able to act as a decision maker.
