The Production Manager will play a crucial role in setting up, managing, and overseeing the production processes of our new manufacturing facility. This role requires a strategic thinker with a strong background in biotechnology and vaccine production. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in production management, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, start-up environment.Key Responsibilities: Facility Setup: Lead the design, setup, and commissioning of the new production facility. Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and best practices in biotechnology manufacturing. Collaborate with engineering, quality, and regulatory teams to ensure seamless facility operations.Production Management: Develop and implement production schedules and processes to meet product demand. Oversee day-to-day production activities, ensuring efficiency, quality, and safety. Manage production staff, including hiring, training, and performance evaluation. Implement and maintain Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).Process Optimization: Continuously evaluate and improve production processes to increase efficiency and reduce costs. Implement Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies to optimize production workflow. Monitor production metrics and KPIs, and report on performance to senior management.Quality and Compliance: Ensure all production activities comply with regulatory requirements and company quality standards. Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to develop and implement quality control procedures. Address any production-related quality issues and implement corrective actions.Inventory and Supply Chain Management: Oversee raw material procurement and inventory management. Work closely with the supply chain team to ensure timely availability of materials. Manage relationships with key suppliers and vendors.Health and Safety: Promote a culture of safety and ensure all production activities adhere to health and safety regulations. Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments.Budget and Cost Management: Develop and manage the production budget. Monitor production costs and implement cost-saving initiatives.Requirements: Bachelor's or master's degree in biotechnology, Biochemistry, Engineering, or a related field. Minimum 10 years of experience in a production management role within the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry, with a focus on vaccine production. Demonstrated experience in setting up and managing a manufacturing facility. Strong knowledge of GMP, regulatory requirements, and quality standards in the biotechnology industry. Proven leadership and team management skills. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Strong organizational and project management skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Proficiency in production management software and tools. Experience with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
