The role has moderate autonomy, requiring high levels of operational judgment.Job DescriptionRoles and Responsibilities:Manage an operation, business, unit, or part of a production facility in order to reach defined targets in quality, cost, delivery and safety. Ensure continuous business improvement according to benchmarks and standards. Team management of salaried employees. This does not include production supervisors who oversee hourly employees.Typically, a 1st line manager of professionals or a 2nd line manager of a professional department. Uses in-depth knowledge in their discipline. Serves as best practice/quality resource. Has awareness of latest technical developments in own area. Contributes towards strategy and policy development and ensures delivery within area of responsibility.Has knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; is aware of the competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market.Uses some judgment and has the ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters to address more complicated day-to-day problems. Has ability to prioritize information for data analysis. Uses technical experience and analytical thinking. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own function to arrive at decisions.Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience.
