Position Summary:
As a Product Engineer at Platform.sh, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing our customer-facing services for both Platform.sh and our new brand Upsun. You will work closely with Front-end, Product, Design, and Support teams to collaborate on innovative solutions that improve the overall user experience. You will be taking action on our API proxies, authentication, organization and project management services, and you will ensure that our platform remains secure, scalable, and high-performing.
Your expertise in building secure, scalable applications on microservice architecture will be key for supporting new feature development and optimizing performance across multiple services. You will close test gaps and advocate for continuous improvements to ensure the long-term stability and reliability of our products. Proactive problem-solving and a commitment to quality will be essential as you contribute to a supportive and collaborative team environment.

What to expect:
Enhance customer-facing features by actively working on key user elements and multiple functionalities, improving every aspect of the customer experience.
Collaborate with Product and Design to transform client needs into clear, actionable issues that your team owns from start to finish.
Build with stability in mind by identifying architectural challenges early and writing high-quality, well-tested code that ensures top performance and reliability.
Partner with Support to swiftly resolve bugs and edge cases, keeping services high-performing and user-friendly.
Participate in code reviews and pairing sessions to refine and perfect every release.
Choose your own priorities within the roadmap, balancing new feature development with essential performance and stability upgrades.
Expand your technical reach by engaging in cross-team projects, gaining exposure to a range of services and technologies.
What you bring:
3+ years of Golang service development experience.
Expertise in microservice architecture and associated challenges.
API design and documentation skills for internal and external use.
Familiarity with MySQL and/or MariaDB.
Knowledge of Git-based workflows.
Understanding of user authentication and authorization flow between web applications.
Ownership mindset from conception to production.
Experience working in Product-driven development teams.
Remote work efficiency and time management.
Proactive attitude aligned with team values of collaboration, support, and continuous learning.
Bonus Points:
Proficiency with GitLab, GitHub, or Linear.
Familiarity with GraphQL.
