Product Development Associate – with French Description:
As a Product Development Associate, based in our Barcelona office, you will form part of a dynamic team of professionals focused on providing first-class support to underwriters. The Product Development (PD) Team is responsible for developing new Financial Lines insurance products, updating existing products to meet evolving market needs and regulatory requirements, and providing day-to-day legal support to underwriters. The Team provides these services to all international markets in six languages. You will report directly to the Product Development Manager.
Responsibilities: Review and draft Financial Lines Insurance Policies (and related contractual documents) in several languages and jurisdictions; Coordinate cross-department product projects; Provide legal support to underwriters on policy wordings and insurance related matters in several languages and jurisdictions; Provide training to underwriters and other staff on insurance topics or related product topics; Participate in the dissemination of legal and business information relevant to the Underwriting community, Claims department and Management; Participate in special projects and perform related duties as assigned. Requirements: Languages: fluency in English, French and either Spanish or German (written and oral) required; Portuguese a plus; Experience: 2 years' working experience, preferably in the finance industry (insurance, reinsurance, bank) or in an international law or consultancy firm; Education: degree in law; other degrees may be considered if supported by work experience with insurance or other contracts. Knowledge of insurance, finance and/or corporate law a plus; Computer skills: superior knowledge of Microsoft Office Word and Outlook; Profile: Fast learner with excellent written and verbal communication skills; Thorough, detail-oriented; Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills; Outstanding level of collaboration skills, exceptional teammate, and ability to establish trust and credibility with stakeholders; Able to work in a fast-paced environment, handle multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines; Able to self-reflect and to provide and seek relevant and constructive feedback; Comfortable working in an international environment;
