To empower our Product Design Team, we are looking for a talented Product Design Lead to help us accelerate and mature our company's products globally. We are WIRIS, a software development company founded 20 years ago and headquartered in Barcelona with offices in the USA and Long Beach (California) since we acquired Design Science company in 2017. Over the past few years, we've been named "The Makers of MathType", and our mission is to make people's STEM work more meaningful by creating software with deep knowledge of advanced technology and science. We are currently more than 80 people revolutionizing the educational field with innovative products that are continuously growing, enhancing our value proposition for our global customers such as NASA, Blackboard, Moodle, Yale University, and Pearson among others.

Key ResponsibilitiesOwn the end-to-end design process and strategy, including user research, user experience, and UI design.Manage your Product Design Team by providing leadership, direction, and mentorship in product design and research, partnering with HR to ensure that the Product Design team is well supported in terms of learning and personal development.Build a strong Product Design framework, policies, and delivery cadences, while setting new standards in execution and operational excellence.Efficiently coordinate Product Design team members and initiatives with units and departments leaders across the company.Shape company's best practices, along with a plan for evolutionary and iterative updates, that actualize the larger strategy over time within all company's products and solutions.Represent user experience and usability to stakeholders within the company.Represent our users internally driving initiatives based on data-proven knowledge, by having a profound understanding of both qualitative and quantitative metrics of our products.Drive frequent product iterations and best practices, making internal stakeholders understand the user-centric intersection between design, product, business, and engineering.Soft SkillsPassionate about usability and product design excellence, feeling naturally inclined to share and promote a customer-centric mindset across the business.Critical eye for inefficient processes.Problem-solver who proactively connects the dots across departments.Fantastic storyteller, believer in the importance of intentional and open communication.Enjoy coaching teams to help them develop themselves whilst contributing to our company purpose and objectives.Technical SkillsAt least 2 years of experience as Product Design Lead or equivalent.Strong experience with UX (wireframing, flows, sitemap, Information Architecture), UI and Visual design. User research process and experience validation hypothesis is a huge plus.Proven background scaling Product Design teams, working closely with researchers, engineering teams, product managers, and analysts in an agile software development company having the ability to meet deadlines.Knowledge of Design System and Modular Assets approach is a must (you've already built design systems in the past and understand the complexity of it).Experience working with a complex suite of products that expand across international markets and user-archetypes.Hands-on experience managing design teams environment Data Driven able to make decisions based on experience, data, and insights considering the big picture and impact these can have at company level.Team player with strong communication and presentation skills and like connecting the dots between design, product, and engineering.Strategic mindset and ability to understand our business in order to make decisions and work independently.We OfferFull-time permanent position.Competitive salary + optional flex salary plan.Flexible working hours and a hybrid work environment.Private health insurance.Birthday day off, in addition to your vacation days off.Unlimited access to Udemy Business.In-house English and Spanish lessons to improve your knowledge.A great work environment in Barcelona city center.All the coffee you can drink, fresh fruit, and yogurt.Tipo de puesto: Jornada completa
